Bill Simmons questions Travis Kelce and the Chiefs in 2026 season

Analyst Bill Simmons suggests tight end Travis Kelce may no longer function as an impact player for the Kansas City Chiefs this year. Despite Kelce’s continued role in training camp and a recent appearance in a preseason tie against the Seattle Seahawks, concerns persist regarding his long-term effectiveness. Simmons also characterizes the 2026 season as a potential transition period for the organization following a 2025 campaign that saw the team miss the playoffs. Criticisms regarding coaching and team focus accompany these observations as the roster integrates players like Kenneth Walker. Kansas City moves forward toward its September 14 season opener against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. Kelce maintains confidence in his ability to perform at a high level, though analysts remain skeptical of the team’s current championship trajectory.
