Billericay team wins Red Bull Soapbox Race at Alexandra Palace

Paul Beesley and Lee Masser led the Billericay team to victory in the Red Bull Soapbox Race held at Alexandra Palace on June 22, 2026. Their prison escape-themed soapbox reached speeds of 35mph, propelling them to first place among 60 entrants. The team credited their design inspiration to trips to their local pub, where they brainstormed ideas over drinks. The racers were praised for their creativity and showmanship as they navigated a hilly course filled with twists and ramps. Following their success, the team celebrated on stage and received a trophy for their achievement.
