Bills to replace grass field before home opener against Lions

The Buffalo Bills will replace the grass field at their new stadium before their Week 2 home opener against the Detroit Lions. Large divots were reported during the preseason, with one player complaining about the quality of the field. Bills COO Pete Guelli stated the decision to replace the surface is aimed at improving player performance. Despite the replacement, the Bills' senior director of grounds acknowledged that some divots will continue to occur on any grass field. This will be the first of three consecutive home games for the Bills this season.
