Billy Amick traded to New York Mets from Minnesota Twins ahead of deadline

Billy Amick, a former Clemson All-American, has been traded to the New York Mets from the Minnesota Twins just ahead of MLB’s trade deadline on August 3. The Mets acquired Amick in exchange for left-handed reliever A.J. Minter and prospect Bruin Agbayani. Amick, selected by the Twins with the 60th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, has shown impressive power at Double-A this season, hitting 23 home runs and driving in 72 RBIs over 86 games. He previously had a standout college career at Clemson and Tennessee, including helping Tennessee secure the 2024 national championship. Amick will continue his development in the Mets system as he aims for a call-up to the major leagues.
