Blackburn Rovers promote Harvey Higgins to the senior matchday squad

Blackburn Rovers have integrated 17-year-old forward Harvey Higgins into their senior squad following the departure of Igor Tyjon to Arsenal. Manager Tony Mowbray introduced Higgins during the recent Lancashire derby against Preston and utilized the teenager again as a substitute during the home match against Sheffield United. The forward signed his first professional contract with the club in February after developing through the academy system. His promotion comes as the club seeks to address a thin roster while sitting 18th in the Championship. Higgins, who has earned international caps for England at the Under-17 level, is expected to be available for selection when Blackburn Rovers host Millwall this Saturday.
