Blackhawks prospect Ty Henry returns to Erie Otters instead of joining NCAA

Chicago Blackhawks prospect Ty Henry will return to the Erie Otters of the OHL for the upcoming season. The defenseman, who was selected by the Blackhawks in the 6th round of the 2024 NHL Draft, had previously committed to playing for the University of St. Thomas. He confirmed the decision to pivot back to junior hockey following the first day of the Blackhawks prospect camp on Friday. Henry missed the entirety of the previous season after sustaining a significant leg injury during a prior camp. The defenseman is now working to resume his development path after recovering from the injury. He participated in the team's prospect camp that began this week in Chicago.
