Blue plaque honour for former England striker Frank Worthington

A blue plaque is set to be installed in Halifax to honour former England striker Frank Worthington. Worthington made eight appearances and scored two goals for England in 1974. The plaque will be placed on the family home in Shelf, where he was born in 1948. Fundraising for the plaque reached its target of £650 shortly after the campaign began and will also support the Alzheimer’s Society's Sport United Against Dementia fund. The unveiling of the plaque is scheduled for later this year.
