Blue Wahoos host special needs awareness night during home series

The Blue Wahoos hosted a Special Needs Night on Friday, September 11, at their home venue during a series against the Biloxi Shuckers. The event featured a pregame parade for the special needs community and ceremonial first pitches performed by various participants. Fans in attendance received a bobblehead depicting local radio broadcaster Paul Chestnutt and his son, Matthew. The team currently employs 10 staff members from the special needs community in various fan-engagement roles. Co-owners Quint and Rishy Studer organized the event to highlight the needs and capabilities of individuals within the community. The initiative follows ongoing support from Pensacola-based sports franchises for local charities and awareness efforts.
