Bonemer, Banks named to All-Star teams as Knights lose

Caleb Bonemer and Max Banks have been selected to All-Star teams in their respective leagues. Bonemer, a third baseman, earned a spot on the South Atlantic League All-Star team after a successful season with the Winston-Salem Dash. Banks, a right-handed pitcher, was honored with a selection to the Carolina League All-Star team following his performance with the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. In the only game played, the Charlotte Knights lost 5-2 to the Norfolk Tides, marking their second consecutive defeat in the series. Knights starter Jonathan Cannon allowed five runs, three of which were earned, and struggled to contain the Tides' offense. Charlotte has been eliminated from playoff contention but secured overall success with the Dash winning the South Atlantic Championship previously this week.
