Borussia Dortmund travels to face TSG Hoffenheim this Saturday for their first away match of the 2026–27 Bundesliga season. BVB enters the fixture following a 2-0 league win over Hamburger SV and a 5-0 DFB Cup victory against HEBC. Head coach Niko Kovac aims to maintain this momentum despite navigating a roster depleted by long-term injuries to Giannis Konstantelias, Emre Can, and Nico Schlotterbeck. TSG Hoffenheim, led by Christian Ilzer, seeks a rebound after falling 2-3 to 1. FC Köln in their opening match. Kovac suggested that new signing Ethan Nwaneri may make his competitive debut during the encounter in Sinsheim. The historical series between the two clubs suggests a competitive outcome, as only one of their 39 previous meetings resulted in a scoreless draw.
