Boston Celtics draft history features players from Mississippi State

The Boston Celtics have a notable history of selecting players from Mississippi State during the NBA Draft. Among them are Jim Ashmore, taken in the 4th round of the 1957 NBA Draft, and Red Stroud, selected in the 5th round of the 1963 NBA Draft. Although neither player made the roster, their selections reflect the Celtics' strategy of sourcing talent from various collegiate programs. This trend highlights the franchise's approach to building competitive teams through the draft process.
