Boston College hosts Rutgers in annual Red Bandanna Game at Alumni Stadium

Boston College hosted Rutgers on Friday night for the annual Red Bandanna Game, which fell on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The event honors former Boston College lacrosse player Welles Crowther, who died while rescuing people in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. During the game, Boston College players wore uniforms featuring paisley patterns and honored the memory of the school alumnus. Rutgers players participated with special helmet decals and uniform markings to recognize 37 university alumni killed in the attacks. The tribute included a video presentation and field recognition for families of the fallen, as the campus marked the significance of the date. Crowther was recently awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously.
