Boston Red Sox demote Romy Gonzalez to Triple-A after trade deadline

Summary

The Boston Red Sox have demoted utility man Romy Gonzalez to Triple-A Worcester following a series of roster moves after the trade deadline on August 1. Gonzalez, a six-year MLB veteran, struggled this season with a.185 batting average in 19 games. The decision comes as the Red Sox made significant roster changes, acquiring players including reliever Erik Miller, outfielder Eli White, and catcher Jake Rogers.
