Boston Red Sox sign catcher Tomás Nido before Yankees series
Summary

The Boston Red Sox have signed nine-year MLB veteran catcher Tomás Nido to a minor league deal prior to their upcoming three-game series against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium this weekend. The move is reportedly connected to catcher Adley Rutschman’s elbow injury, which has sidelined him for the last two games. Nido, previously with the Detroit Tigers, is expected to join the Red Sox soon to provide depth behind the plate. The team will assess how this signing affects their active roster leading into the critical series.
