Brady Singer showcases talent in loss to Phillies as trade deadline approaches

Brady Singer pitched effectively for the Cincinnati Reds in their 1-0 defeat against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Over seven and 1/3 innings, Singer allowed one earned run and struck out five batters, enhancing his appeal as a trade candidate ahead of the deadline. Although he performed well, lack of run support ultimately led to the loss. This season has been difficult for Singer, who holds a 4.72 ERA over 18 appearances. The Reds, now 42-50 and last in the NL Central, continue to consider trading veterans like Singer as the market heats up before the deadline. They will host the Chicago Cubs for a three-game series before the All-Star break.
