Branden Carlson returns to Paycom Center with Portland in 2027

Branden Carlson, a key reserve during the Oklahoma City Thunder's 2024-25 championship run, signed a one-year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers this offseason. The seven-footer joins a Portland frontcourt featuring Donovan Clingan, Robert Williams III, and Yang Hansen after serving two seasons on a two-way contract with Oklahoma City. During his time with the Thunder, Carlson averaged 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds while shooting 34.9% from three-point range. As divisional rivals, Portland is scheduled to play at Paycom Center twice during the 2026-27 regular season. The first matchup takes place on Sunday, January 17, at 2:30 p.m. CT, followed by a second visit on Tuesday, February 9, at 7 p.m. CT. Carlson earned his standard NBA deal after proving himself as a contributor despite roster limitations within the deep Oklahoma City rotation.
