Brandon Aiyuk remains in standoff with 49ers amid uncertain future

Summary

A standoff continues between Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers, with Aiyuk reportedly expressing a desire to sever ties with the organization. General Manager John Lynch confirmed Aiyuk's current status on the 'left squad' designation, meaning he is not part of the team's roster. The dispute stems from Aiyuk's failure to report for rehabilitation after an injury-shortened 2024 season, contributing to tensions that led to the voiding of guaranteed money in his contract. As the team moves forward, Aiyuk's future in the NFL remains unclear without formal actions to reinstate him with the league.
