Brandon Lowe named Pirates' nominee for Roberto Clemente Award

Brandon Lowe has been nominated by the Pittsburgh Pirates for the 2026 Roberto Clemente Award, which recognizes players for their humanitarian efforts. The announcement comes as the Pirates celebrate Roberto Clemente Day on September 15. Lowe, who previously received a nomination from the Tampa Bay Rays in 2022, founded Home Runs for Hope, donating $100 for every home run to mental health initiatives. Over the season, he has hit 29 home runs, totaling $2,900 for charity. Players will wear No. 21 in honor of Clemente during their game against the Milwaukee Brewers today.
