Brandon Nimmo leads Texas Rangers past Athletics to cut AL West deficit

Brandon Nimmo recorded four hits and five RBIs on Tuesday night to lead the Texas Rangers to an 8-5 victory over the Athletics in Arlington. The win brings the Rangers within one game of the Houston Astros for the lead in the AL West division. Corey Seager scored three runs in the effort, supported by MacKenzie Gore, who allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings to secure the win. The Athletics attempted a late rally with a two-run homer by Jeff McNeil in the ninth, but the Texas bullpen held the lead. Athletics first baseman Tommy White left the game early due to back soreness. The two teams are scheduled to meet again on Wednesday for the series finale.
