Brandon Sherrard commits to Texas, choosing Longhorns over LSU and Oklahoma

Summary

Four-star cornerback Brandon Sherrard has committed to the Texas Longhorns, opting for Texas over offers from LSU and Oklahoma. The 6'3", 183-pound player from Pearland Shadow Creek announced his decision on July 1, 2026, reinforcing Texas's strong recruiting momentum. Sherrard, who also held offers from schools like Arizona State, Miami, and Oregon, is ranked as the No. 157 player and the No. 18 cornerback in the 247Sports Composite rankings. His commitment marks the 22nd pledge for the Longhorns in the 2027 recruiting class, bolstering their cornerback group amid rumors of fellow recruit Greedy James potentially flipping to LSU.
