Brantford Bulldogs trade for Aleksandr Sementsov from Barrie Colts

The Brantford Bulldogs have acquired forward Aleksandr Sementsov from the Barrie Colts for a fifth-round pick in the 2028 OHL Priority Selection. Sementsov, a 17-year-old Russian-born player eligible for the 2027 NHL Draft, previously struggled to secure a position on the Colts roster. He impressed in youth hockey, leading the OMHA U16 in points and notching 21 points in 42 games with the OJHL Newmarket Hurricanes last season. Sementsov will initially report to the Brantford Titans of the GOHL as an affiliate player, where the Bulldogs plan to support his development ahead of a potential full-time OHL role in 2027-28.
