Braves announce surgeries for Hurston Waldrep and Spencer Schwellenbach

Summary

The Atlanta Braves have confirmed that pitcher Hurston Waldrep will undergo Tommy John surgery, which will likely sideline him for the entire 2027 season. Spencer Schwellenbach, also an injured starter, will have surgery on the same elbow fracture he sustained last year. There is currently no timetable for Schwellenbach's recovery.
