The Atlanta Braves designated right-hander Elieser Hernandez for assignment on July 25, one day after he pitched three innings in a game against the Baltimore Orioles. Hernandez had signed a minor league contract last offseason and made his first Major League appearance since 2024, following time in the Korea Baseball Organization. Left-hander Connor Thomas has been recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to take Hernandez's spot on the roster. Hernandez, who has a career ERA of 5.05, could opt for free agency if he clears waivers.
