Braves expected to pursue Tarik Skubal with key prospect

The Atlanta Braves plan to acquire starting pitcher Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers ahead of the 2026 MLB trade deadline. ESPN's David Schoenfield asserts that the Braves have an advantage in trade discussions due to their top pitching prospect, 19-year-old Cam Caminiti. While Skubal is viewed as a top target, acquiring him will likely involve significant sacrifice, potentially impacting the Braves' farm system. Skubal, a reigning Cy Young winner, has a strong 2.79 ERA this season, underscoring his value to contending teams like the Braves as they seek a deeper postseason run this year.
