The Atlanta Braves have optioned pitcher Owen Murphy to Triple-A Gwinnett and selected Elieser Hernandez to their major league roster as of July 19, 2026. This move follows Murphy's lackluster performance in his career start, where he had a 2/2 K/BB ratio and allowed a home run in just eight outs. Hernandez, who has a mixed record over his six major league seasons, will serve as bullpen depth for the Braves, who are looking to manage their pitching resources amid recent struggles. Atlanta is set to face the Texas Rangers later today in a rubber game.
- •Murphy had a rough outing, registering a 95 ERA- over three appearances.
- •Hernandez has significant major league experience and needs to provide depth.
- •Braves face Rangers later today in a critical matchup.
