Braves release Andrew McCutchen one day after trade deadline

The Atlanta Braves have released outfielder Andrew McCutchen from his minor league contract, a day after the trade deadline. McCutchen, a former MVP and five-time All-Star, joined the Braves in July after being released by the Texas Rangers. In 32 at-bats at Triple-A Gwinnett, he recorded three home runs and a.333 batting average.
