Braves select Blake Burkhalter and Kyle Farmer to major league roster

The Atlanta Braves added right-hander Blake Burkhalter and infielder Kyle Farmer to the major league roster on September 1, 2026. The roster move coincided with the team placing right-handed pitcher Robert Suarez on the 60-day injured list. Burkhalter made his major league debut the same day during a 9-5 loss to the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park. He pitched one inning of relief in the sixth, allowing one run on one hit while recording one strikeout and one walk. The Braves are currently navigating a competitive race in the NL East as the team records its second consecutive loss. The franchise continues to manage roster adjustments as the season approaches its final stretch.
