Braves struggle in June as Phillies surge in NL East standings
Summary

As of July 2, 2026, the Atlanta Braves (49-34) sit atop the NL East but are in the midst of a significant slump, going 4-13 in June. Their previously comfortable 10.5-game lead has dwindled to just 2.5 games over the Philadelphia Phillies (48-38), who have seen success after hiring Don Mattingly as manager. The Braves are led by Matt Olson and Chris Sale, while the Phillies' offense is powered by Kyle Schwarber and Cristopher Sanchez on the mound. The next series of games will be crucial for both teams as they navigate the season's second half.
