Breckin Taylor claims second straight EDGA Match Play title

Breckin Taylor captured the EDGA Match Play Tournament title for the second consecutive year, defeating Mike Wolfe 2 and 1 in the final on June 13 at Whispering Woods Golf Course. Taylor, a 2023 Cathedral Prep graduate, and Wolfe, both prominent in Erie's golf scene, faced off in a repeat match for the first time since the tournament’s inception in 1973. Taylor noted the significance of winning back-to-back titles and detailed the tournament’s earlier conclusion due to impending weather. He has indicated uncertainty in participating in the EDGA’s stroke play tournament later this summer, scheduled for August 14.
