Brewers could see Brandon Woodruff return for postseason play

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff, recovering from a shoulder injury, could make a return in late October. He has a 2.98 ERA through nine starts this season but missed all of 2024 and much of this season due to injuries. After his shoulder showed signs of healing, Woodruff initiated a throwing program on September 15. He plans to undergo more imaging of his shoulder on Friday and may attempt to throw off a mound. If he returns, it would be in a bullpen role, providing a veteran presence and depth for the Brewers' pitching staff.
