Brewers make strong offer for Tarik Skubal before Dodgers acquisition

The Milwaukee Brewers reportedly made a significant offer for pitcher Tarik Skubal prior to his trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers acquired Skubal from the Detroit Tigers, giving up three prospects, including No. 5 prospect Zyhir Hope. The Brewers' proposal included three hitting prospects, at least two of whom were Top 100 prospects, with shortstop Luis Peña as a highlighted player. Despite the Brewers' aggressive bid, the Tigers opted for the Dodgers' offer, which was perceived to address their need for a controllable pitcher. Brewers general manager Matt Arnold acknowledged the team's willingness to be bold in their trade discussions.
