Brewers prospect Luis Peña suffers ankle injury playing for Class AA Biloxi

Milwaukee Brewers infielder Luis Peña sustained a left ankle injury on Sept. 5 while playing for the Class AA Biloxi Shuckers. The 19-year-old was injured while attempting to steal third base during the contest. Medical staff attended to him on the field before he was carted away for further evaluation at a local emergency room. This injury marks another setback in a season already interrupted by a medical incident in April, when Peña collapsed in the dugout and required neurological evaluation. Before his departure from the game, the team's No. 2 prospect had recorded a.297 batting average and a.796 OPS across 69 appearances this year. The Brewers have not yet provided a timetable for his return.
