The Brewster Whitecaps secured their fourth consecutive win on July 1, defeating the Wareham Gatemen 5-3 in Cape Cod Baseball League action. Brewster's Charlie Willcox allowed three hits and two walks in five innings, while reliever Tate DeRias struck out six in 2 2/3 innings. Cash Strayer contributed significantly, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs, including a home run. Wareham managed to score twice in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
