Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Fleury enters his first game in the role on Wednesday night as the team begins its title defense against the New England Patriots. Fleury joined the Seahawks staff to maintain continuity for quarterback Sam Darnold following a seven-year tenure with the San Francisco 49ers. When asked during a Sunday press session if he sought advice from former colleagues regarding his play-calling debut, Fleury joked that his contacts within the 49ers organization are not interested in seeing the Seahawks succeed. Fleury transitions to calling plays from the sideline after serving as a tight ends coach and run game coordinator in San Francisco. He previously worked under Kyle Shanahan and moved from defensive coaching to the offensive side of the ball during the 2020 season.
