Brian Ortega claims elite fighters outside UFC pose genuine threats

Former title challenger Brian Ortega recently stated that several fighters competing outside the Ultimate Fighting Championship possess the skill to defeat current roster members. Speaking on Anatomy of a Fighter, Ortega described the promotion as a marketing machine that avoids signing athletes who could potentially expose the limits of its current talent pool. Ortega is currently preparing for his upcoming bout against Renato Moicano at UFC 331, scheduled for September 19 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. During his training, he has been working alongside A.J. McKee, whom he identified as an example of a high-level fighter operating outside the UFC. McKee is scheduled to challenge Rajabali Shaidullaev for the Rizin and Professional Fighters League featherweight titles at Super Rizin 5 in Osaka, Japan. Ortega maintains that the dedication and technical ability found in other promotions are often overlooked by the UFC management.
