Brighton signs Pascal Struijk from Leeds for £20 million

Summary

Brighton & Hove Albion has reached an agreement in principle to sign Pascal Struijk from Leeds United. The 26-year-old Dutch defender is set to join Brighton following contract extension talks with Leeds that stalled. With Struijk entering the final year of his contract, Leeds opted to sell him rather than risk losing him for free next summer. The transfer fee is reported to be £20 million, providing Brighton with a versatile defender after Jan Paul van Hecke's departure to Tottenham.
