Bristol City sign midfielder Brian De Keersmaecker from Oxford United on loan

Bristol City have acquired midfielder Brian De Keersmaecker from Oxford United on a season-long loan. The agreement includes an option for the club to make the move permanent. The 26-year-old Belgian previously joined the English game from Heracles Almelo in 2025. He was part of the Oxford United side relegated from the Championship last season. De Keersmaecker's last season was curtailed in February by a shoulder injury requiring surgery, and he has not appeared in a matchday squad since the club's drop into League One. Bristol City manager Michael Skubala stated the move is intended to add depth and quality to the midfield roster.
