Bristol loses first game at Little League Softball World Series

The Bristol Little League softball team lost 15-1 to Owensboro, Kentucky, in its opening game of the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, N.C. The game ended after four innings due to the mercy rule, following a nine-run surge by Kentucky in the fourth. Bristol, which secured its spot in the series by winning the New England Region championship, will now move to the elimination bracket and face Toms River, New Jersey, on Tuesday. Toms River lost its own opening match to Asia-Pacific 4-1 on Sunday.
