Brock Bowers misses Las Vegas Raiders season opener after meniscus surgery

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers will not play in the team's regular season opener against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. The All-Pro player underwent a meniscus trim in Dallas on Tuesday after sustaining an injury during training camp. League sources confirmed the procedure and indicated that Bowers is expected to remain out of action for one or two games. Michael Mayer is slated to fill the tight end position for the Raiders in his absence. Bowers recorded 1,874 receiving yards over his first two NFL seasons and previously produced a 126-yard, one-touchdown performance against Miami in 2024. The Dolphins defense, currently featuring an unproven secondary, prepares to face the Las Vegas offense without the presence of the Raiders' primary tight end target.
