Brock Purdy relies on tight ends amid 49ers' WR injuries

Summary

Brock Purdy has found support in the San Francisco 49ers' passing game during training camp as injuries plague the wide receiver corps. With Ricky Pearsall out for the season and Mike Evans and De'Zhaun Stribling dealing with injuries, Purdy is turning to backup tight ends, including Farrell and Tonges. Despite the uncertainty, this reliance on backup tight ends could provide additional options for head coach Kyle Shanahan as the season approaches. Kittle's recovery from an Achilles tear prompts a need for these backups to step up, underscoring a critical point in preparation for the regular season.
