Broncos assess pass-rush depth after Jonathon Cooper enters exempt list

The Denver Broncos finalized their 53-man roster as they prepare for a Week 1 Monday Night Football game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The team faces a challenge in the pass-rushing department after Jonathon Cooper was placed on the commissioner's exempt list. Cooper, who pleaded not guilty to felony assault charges following an arrest in June, cannot participate in practices or games under this status. Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and coach Sean Payton must currently rely on Nik Bonitto, Jonah Elliss, Dondrea Tillman, and Que Robinson to generate pressure. A trial for Cooper is scheduled for November 10.
