Browns acquire defensive end Jared Verse from Rams ahead of 2026 season
Summary

The Cleveland Browns have added defensive end Jared Verse following a trade with the Los Angeles Rams. Verse, the 2024 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, recorded impressive stats with 188 tackles and 17 sacks in his first two seasons. With the departure of star Myles Garrett, Verse will become a key player in the Browns' defensive scheme, likely taking on the role of the top pass rusher in 2026. His arrival is expected to bolster the defensive line, alongside fellow EDGE rushers Alex Wright and Isaiah McGuire, as newly-appointed defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg seeks to enhance the team's pass-rushing capabilities.
