Browns evaluate Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders in training camp

Summary

The Cleveland Browns are assessing quarterbacks Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders during training camp ahead of the new NFL season. Coach Todd Monken confirmed both players will alternate first-team reps, with Watson starting camp as the first-choice quarterback. General manager Andrew Berry left open the possibility of Watson's future, noting that the team's decision won't be based solely on contracts or age. Observers express skepticism about Watson's potential to rebound after a disappointing tenure and lengthy suspension, urging the franchise to consider alternatives for a long-term solution at quarterback. Preseason play is set to begin on August 15 against the Chicago Bears, which will test the quarterbacks in game situations.
