Bruins score three late goals to win season opener against Rangers

The Boston Bruins defeated the New York Rangers 3-0 in their season opener at TD Garden on September 29, 2026. After a scoreless game for over two periods, Fraser Minten scored the first goal with 3:46 left, followed by goals from JJ Peterka and Mark Kastelic in quick succession. Despite a strong performance from Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin early on, the Bruins dominated the game overall and did not allow a goal, with Jeremy Swayman making 24 saves in the shutout. The Bruins will face the Winnipeg Jets next on October 2, 2026.
