Bruins trade for JJ Peterka, forfeit 2026 first-round draft pick

Summary

The Boston Bruins acquired winger JJ Peterka from the Utah Mammoth, completing a trade ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft. To finalize the deal, Boston sent the Mammoth the 23rd overall selection and a conditional first-round pick in 2028 related to the earlier trade of Brad Marchand to Florida. As a result, the Bruins now have no first-round picks in this year's draft but maintain seven total selections throughout various rounds, with their first pick now set at No. 56 overall.
