Bryce Miller struggles in disastrous outings for Seattle Mariners

Seattle Mariners pitcher Bryce Miller continued to struggle in back-to-back starts last week. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings against the Milwaukee Brewers and similarly surrendered six runs in 4 1/3 innings versus the Chicago Cubs. The Mariners lost both games, resulting in a 22-0 defeat to the Brewers and a 19-2 loss to the Cubs. Miller's poor performance has contributed to a challenging month of August, as he has not recorded a win since July 2 and the Mariners have lost 10 of his last 11 starts. His ERA has risen from 1.71 on July 2 to 4.12. He is expected to make another start this weekend against the Toronto Blue Jays as the Mariners fight for a Wild Card spot.
