Bryson DeChambeau requests to see scorecard at The Open, denied by R&A

Bryson DeChambeau, competing at The Open Championship on July 18, requested to see his scorecard from his second round. Following an animated discussion with R&A chief executive Mark Darbon, his request was promptly denied. DeChambeau has been under scrutiny after receiving a two-shot penalty for improving his lie in the rough. He enters the final day of the tournament four shots behind the leader Sam Burns, after carding a round of 69 on Saturday. The R&A has been engaged in a public disagreement with DeChambeau throughout the tournament, in addition to ongoing tensions with media representatives.
