Bryson Gittins named OSU Wexner Boys Athlete of the Week

Bryson Gittins of New Albany was named the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Boys Athlete of the Week for June 8-14. He pitched a complete game during a 4-1 victory over Harrison in a Division II state semifinal, allowing five hits and recording eight strikeouts. Gittins secured 88.6% of the voting, ahead of runner-up Ben Uhlenhake from Watterson, who hit a three-run home run in a separate semifinal. Aidan Wyche, also from New Albany, pitched a complete game for a 4-1 win in the Division II state title. The athlete nominations for this award are made weekly, with voting deadlines on Fridays for boys and Saturdays for girls.
