Buccaneers claim cornerback Kevin Knowles off waivers from Chiefs

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added defensive depth on Tuesday by claiming cornerback Kevin Knowles off waivers. The transaction follows Knowles' departure from the Kansas City Chiefs, who released the second-year player to manage their 53-man roster. Knowles originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2025. During his rookie season with Kansas City, he appeared in 13 games and recorded 15 tackles along with two passes defensed. He logged 82 defensive snaps and 231 snaps on special teams throughout that campaign. To create room on the active roster for the addition of Knowles, the Buccaneers waived linebacker Caden Fordham. The move comes one day after the team previously waived linebacker Jack Pybrun.
