Bucs QB Jake Browning sidelined for preseason opener against Jets

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided not to start Jake Browning at quarterback for their preseason opener against the New York Jets on August 14. Browning sustained a back injury during a joint practice at the Jets' facility on August 12, leading to this decision. Earlier in the week, the Bucs announced that Baker Mayfield would also not participate in the game. As a result, Connor Bazelak and undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels will take on quarterback duties for Tampa Bay in this matchup.
